Leinster Combined Events, Tullamore
Well done to all our athletes who took part in the Leinster Combined Events in Tullamore on Saturday the 8th June. There were a number of medallists from the club with success coming all the way from U12 up to U20. In the Girls U 12 Tri Event Roisin Kearney won a silver medal after the three events, Long Jump, Shot Putt and 600m. The Boys U14 Quadrathlon just missed out on the medals, Shane Kelly finished in 4th, Cathal English 9th and Harry Brennan just behind him in 10th. Zoe Dunne 5th, Aoibheann Carter 8th and Lily O Neill 13th competed in the U14 Pentathlon. Elanna Kelly was also unlucky in the Girls U14 Pentathlon where she finished 4th. Jeesica Lawlor finished in 8th place after the Hurdles, Long Jump, Shot Putt, High Jump and Distance events had been completed. Adam Kelly finished just outside the medals in the Boys U15 Pentathlon. Once the points had been added together after the 5 events Adam finished in 4th place. Cara English did manage to secure a podium position in the Girls U16 Pentathlon. After the Hurdles, Long Jump, Shot Putt, High Jump and distance event Cara’s points were good enough for 2nd place. Her friend and training partner Aaliyah Troy was also just outside the medals finishing in 4th place. The Boys U16 Pentathlon had 3 athletes from the club competing. Will Duffy finished in 6th place, Kalem Buggy in 7th and Eoghan Mitchell finished in 8th. James Hyland performed very well throughout the day in the Boys U18 Pentathlon which saw him take 1st place. Katie Baldwin was our final competitor in the Girls U20 Pentathlon where she claimed the silver medal after all five events had been completed.
